need to identify this dana 30s year

the inner c's are the same, the knuckle is different. uses different brake pads and calipers.

its definitly a dana 30 though. it bolted right up minus the brakes and the damn drive shaft.

the u-joint does need to be wider a the yoke. but it obviously doesnt for the driveshaft.

simple fix use other brakes and swap yokes...

already bought new brakes, cant swap the brake over to this one with out swapping the knuckles. the knuckles on my 30 were trashed. i might just do that, but isnt there a certain spec the nut has to be torqued too?

Its doubtful it's of any interest to you guys. I'm pretty ignorant of the actual drive train changes and differences.

One thing that DID catch my attention was somewhere I noticed a difference stated between 89 & 90, one having c clips and one not.

the 30s are a front axle=no c-clips.

the dana 35 which you are referring to is a rear. which you are correct on.

front yoke nut? theres no crush sleve dana 30 uses shims just tighten down good theres a torque spec just search for it

No crush sleeve, just have to get the pinion bearing preload correct. Ive swapped knuckles from a 95 to 88 and the other way with no problems with the brakes or anything.

yeah my knuckles were trashed on my 30, they had deep grooves where the calipers road causing annoying sounds.

You just have to put a weld on it to fill them in then grind smooth and square. simple
