alright guys i got a "new" dana 30 for my jeep. my friend i got it from says it came out of a 93. well i dont believe it did for multiple reasons.

A. square plug in the cover
B. knuckles are diferent
C.brake pads do not attach to the caliper. they float on the knuckles.
D. it has u-bolt style straps for the front drive shaft.
E. the yoke is too wide for my drive shaft u-joint.

i need to know so i can get parts for this thing and find out what other parts dont change over from my 97.

i have already had to but all new brakes, now i am just trying to figure out the deal with the u-joint.

i believe it came out of a full time 90 or older because it does not have the axle disconnect.

You got the same axle i got. Its a great axle. 29 spline shafts too

 

xj stryker. the only difference i can see is the fact urs has regular straps, and this one has the u-bolt style.

He is saying it has a wider u-joint (1330 size is my guess) as well as u-bolt style clamps. And to the best of my knowledge all the D30s have the same Cs whereas the OP said his are different.
