Default need help on wifes xj. weird starting issues.

Cranks over fine.
But sometimes you have to crank on it a couple times to get it to start and when it finally does it seems like shes starving for gas for a second.

Did a tune up or at least the wife did.. plugs wires cap and roter.

Put a fuel pressure tester on it and it didnt get pressure till we started cranking like the fuel pump has a delay?

Could be a bad fuel pump check valve. Try this:

Turn the key to On, then off, On the off. Then go to start and see what happens.

Your wife did the tune-up? Too cool.

Ill give it a try again tomorrow. Pretty sure I have before and it didnt make a difference.

Shes learning. Plugs didnt get gapped. And I received the funniest f**king call about 3 weeks after she did the tune up. She went shopping. Went to start her jeep. Called me in histarics saying she blew her jeep up and she didnt do anything. I drove over. She starts it... guess what didnt get tightened... one spark plug that backed itself out lmfao. I started laughing so hard I couldn't breath.

Made my day.

Ill update what it does.

Kinda though so another thing ya might look in to is sticking fuel pump relay could be the jiggling of motor trying to start activates it causing fuel pump to run if theres nno power from above test switch like relay would be a easy test ...good luck.

I have a feeling the fuel pump may be bad. Wife was sayimg on hot days its worse. I have not driven it enough to tell.

If there is no power where is the relay?
