Default need help! motor over reving

i have a 91 cherokee 4.0L 5 speed and i changed the air idle senor cause when it warmed up it would idle to low and stall it self out, well i put the new one in the correct way, and i started up my jeep and it started reving at 2200 rpms i read the directions how to reset it, it said drive the vehicle at normal temp at 40mph till it idles normal, well tried that, and that didnt turn out good thought i blew my motor but thank god i didnt, so i went to put the ld one back in and its still doing it, i have no idea wats going on, i need help very badly any ideas please let me know!! thank u!

try unhooking you battery cable with the new one installed... touch the two terminals together OFF the battery... this will reset your computer... keep them together for a few min or so... then hook them back up and start it up... see if that helps...
