I need to replace this entire piece it is seized up and cannot be adjusted . I have no idea what it's actually called, or where I can buy one... The only thing I have found on the internet is just the Equalizer Bar, but I need everything other than the actual cables themselves.

Do any of you know where I can buy the Equalizer Bar and the rest of the components????

The place I used was Quadratec.com for some misc parts. Might be worth looking...or... Their number is 1-800-745-2348 ,to just call & ask..

Then again, maybe it's a dealer part....

 

Looks legit to me, and the guy claims it has functioned correctly and lasted a long time this way... Its an 8'' stainless bolt and locking nut, total cost of $1.00. I'll give this a try...

 

Looks like a good fix to me !!
One caution though, don't use a stainless nut on a stainless bolt. Use a plated steel fiber-lock nut. Stainless nuts seem to freeze onto stainless bolts for some reason, unless anti-sieze is used.

 

Looking at your first picture, it looks like all of the adjustment on the cable tensioner has been used....it about as tight as it can go.
If the parking brake pedal is working OK but you're not getting enough braking action, your rear brake shoes could be worn down or out of adjustment.

I replaced all of this from a jeep in the junkyard. Those long threaded stock ones rot very easily Chrysler should have used stainless steel from the factory or at least tried to protect them from the elements.

 

Vehicles ( and airplanes ) were not supposed to last as long as they do !!

My jeep is a '94, and the airplane is a '47. The advent of using more stainless steel in cars, like some late factory exhaust systems, & hardware etc for example, has helped with longevity for cars.

 

I bought a new parking brake adjuster/equalizer from a seller on eBay a few weeks ago. They are for a Wrangler. I haven't installed it yet, but another user somewhere on this forum said in an older post that they work fine on a Cherokee.

It was kind of expensive with the shipping charge. $37.90 total cost.
