Washer Pump Issues

Washer Pump Issues
Having Issues with my washer pumps not working.
Replace both pumps assuming they had went out due to being so corroded, still not working. So I hooked one directly to the battery it and it runs.
I am getting power at the wires with out the pump hooked up.
As soon as I hook the pump connections to the wires no power.
Any ideas?

1) how much power at the wires?
2) is there a polarity issue on the pumps?
3) do you have good ground circuit for the pumps?
