Need help diagnosting a problem
I have a "grinding" noise coming from beneath my jeep.
It only makes the sound after driving for at least 30-45 minutes straight and a speed of at least 40mph. I hear it a tiny little bit driving straight but majorly when turning. After i park and let it sit for a bit it goes away.
Can anyone help me with this?
Zach

Could be brakes or a zillion other things.Get under there & start looking for shiney metal. You could also take somewhere that offers free inspections.Just make sure it is really free, not "free inspection with any purchase" scam.

it might be a dragging brake caliper that is not releasing. pull tires off and inspect the brakes... would be a good idea to service them. as well... Chrysler products like to develop large rust pits on the knuckles where the pads ride. be sure that the pads can move freely, that the slides are moving and regrease those. and make sure the caliper piston retracts. may also be a good idea while you are in there to inspect the condition and level of the front diff fluid. have all u-joints been replace because there are front axle u joints... although I'm not sure if your jeep has the u's or the cv joints. either way get in there start eliminating some possibilities and we will keep moving forward.

I replaced my bearing and the noise is still occurring. Happens now highway and local driving. Noise comes into effect after driving for 15-20 minutes. I had a friend look at the ottom and said nothing looked out of the ordinary. Any other ideas what it could be.
