need help asap! thanx
i recently broce my center pin and when it went out it took my carrier and locker with it so i am replacing it with the stock lsd carrier and can not get the senterpin to fit once c-clips are in.

Did you try having friends pull outward on the axels while trying to push the pin in? It would take three people. One pulling out on each axel while you put the pin in. That might help compress the side gears into the case enough to get the pin in.

I'm not suggesting that you put it together that way. I'm trying to get more info.
What exactly is interfering with the pin? Is is because the axles wont slide out far enough with the clips installed? So the pin hits the end of the axles and wont go in?
Are the clips you're using the ones that were in with your locker or the ones that came from the donor vehicle?

yes exactly whats going on. the shafts wont give the room needed for the center pin, since its the lsd should there be movement in the packs to allow for the center pin to have room?

Some other things.
I've seen C-clips deformed, sort of concave from the axles pulling out on them. If your assembly is a tight fit and the clips are slightly concave they could cause a problem getting it togeather. You could try inverting them or flattening them back with a hammer.
Also, there were different versions of axles made, some with c-clips and some without. Now I don't know all the match and mis-match issues but is it possible your trying to install a non clip style diff with c-clip style axles?
Rear Axles
Dana 35 non c-clip - 27 spline, 1.18" diameter shafts, 7.58" ring gear, 2.62" axle tube - used 84-89
Dana 35 c-clip - 27 spline, 1.18" diameter shafts, 7.58" ring gear, 2.62" axle tube - used 90-01
Chrysler 8.25 - 27 spline, 1.17" diameter shafts, 8.25" ring gear, 3" axle tube - used 91-96
Chrysler 8.25 - 29 spline, 1.21" diameter shafts, 8.25" ring gear, 3" axle tube - used 97-01
Dana 44 non c-clip - 30 spline, 1.31" diameter shafts, 8.5" ring gear, 2.75" axle tube - used 87-89 on some (not all) XJs equipped with towing package.

Depending on the year of manufacture, either type could have been the stock unit. Based on what I'm reading on the web, earlier models came stock without C-clips.
What year is your axle housing/axles and what year is the diff you're trying to install from. Is it your actual stock diff or one you got from another vehicle?
