How do you know that the coolant isn't flowing through the block? An overheat shouldn't have caused a blockage in the motor. You might think about draining it again and flushing the block real good. Another thing might be a bad (even though its new) thermostat. I've seen brand new thermostats that refuse to open...Good luck!

Pull the hoses, and run some distilled water through the heater core hoses and the block itself. x2 on a new thermostat that's stuck. I've had it happen a couple times.

Double check all ur hoses, feel around the clamps for minor rips or tears hoses are cheap but can lead to some seriously messed up problems.

Yea, that's strange... it's a '99 so obvioulsy ot doesn't have that horrible closed, pressurized system my '89 has... I would double check thermo and water pump.

no. it just doesn't seem to push water through it. I can force water through it by putting water in radiator and pulling off different hoses but if I have all on except top water pump line it barely trickles out ? Help please

no water comes through that one, it doesn't come throught the one that goes to the radiator, I flushed heater core and lines but water still doesn't seem to flow through large line. even at operating temp upper rad line is hot but very sqishy.

if the thermostat opened and its not running hot your good to go not really gonna feel water running thru the hose the small tube in the radiator are gonna slow it down for cooling purposes
