One more "test" for the fan clutch - you should hear a "roar" when you rev the engine. If you don't, the clutch is probably slipping too much (thus not pulling enough air) at lower RPMs. I was amazed at the difference in cooling (and in the noise that it makes) once I replaced it.

Bottom line: if you don't know the roar I am describing, you should probably replace the fan clutch. It's a 20 minute job and $40 well spent, and no, you don't need to pull the radiator (at least, I didn't have to...)

my co-work recently changed his fan/clutch with one from the junk yard. he mentioned that it roars now and thought it was because the blades were different and/or newer part. He also mentioned improvement in cooling since we've been recently chatting a lot about jeeps, he i a huge fan and i'm getting on board the more is work on them.

I'd like to test/replace the fan/clutch (wants the oem part number for fan/clutch??) and would like to flush the radiator.
