This plug was resting on my exhaust manifold and it's been wrapped in electrical tape, which also melted around it. I don't remember seeing it when I rebuilt my engine (might have been psyched and in a hurry to get it started when I buttoned it back up) and I can't find a socket it might plug into. It has three wires: blue, red, and yellow. I can't tell if any of them have a black stripe, or if they're exactly those colors. I can't find these three wires on any wiring diagrams. My engine started cutting out when I found it, and can't find any fuses blown. I appreciate any ideas as to what it might be for, I'm out of them. This is a 2.5 litre 4 cylinder engine with a single Renix-controlled TBI. Thanks, and dads, Happy Father's Day!!!

Actually, it does look a little like the TPS for a 4.0L... but I have a TPS plugged in and working. It also has three wires, held in place by two torx screws. This plug looks like this picture I found for the 4.0L TPS but why on earth would it be on a 2.5L ignition system? I'm going to check the wires again but I couldn't find any hot ones and no fuses blown. Thansk for the ideas.

maybe to save production cost? Mass producing wire harnesses might have been easier for them to include un necessary wires instead of having 2 different harnesses.
