Occasionally I will see a little puff of smoke from the tailpipe if it has been sitting for a while. No large clouds though and I have not noticed any loss of power. I simply chalk it up to the valve seals leaking a bit of oil into combustion chamber that burns off when I start it up.

When you say smoke does it disapate quickly or can you see a half mile behind you, moisture does not linger. Does it have alot of blow bye?are you adding any water? You said you were going to do a compression check, how did that turn out?120-150 is good.
I had a problem like that once and it turned out to be a rear main seal,it just would blow out on to the exhaust at times.

its hard to say how fast its disapates once i was parked reved the engine drove away looked back and saw the smoke the other time was on the highway i looked back and i could see it atleast 5 car lenths away. so i guess it lingers.

the compression is perfect on all 6. first crank or 2 90psi 4 or 5 cranks 155psi.
