CRC Electrical contact cleaner if you wanna clean it correctly, We didn't have anything else when our jeep died and use liquid wrench it worked. You just wanna clean any gunk that's in the connectors off.
And this is what the sensor looks like: http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/...Sensor_MAP.jpg

I don't think so, but it would stop the jeep from starting, I think its worth a shot purely because its an easy thing to do. Have you tried taking the starter into a parts store to be tested?

There are a few things that could cause this, but try not wasting your time checking and cleaning things that have nothing to do with cranking the engine over...
What you really need to do, if you're trying to fix this yourself, is get a volt meter. If you can't check the things we ask you to check it would be pointless.
So, check for voltage between the body and the starter. Then check for voltage to the starter from the ignition switch, this will be the small gauge wire going to the starter and obviously will only have voltage on it when the key is turned to the crank position. If you have voltage on both of these wires then remove the starter and have it checked at Advance Auto or Auto Zone.

If your dash lights don't dim, the starter solenoid is not getting power for some reason. Could be the ignition switch, starter solenoid, who knows? Get a voltmeter as suggested and start checking stuff.
