Default My 96 shut off on highway today?

She has been running good and sitting on an exit ramp in traffic (luckily not moving) and lost electrical and then it shut off. There was a heavy downpour, thiking possibly something got wet? Pulled off road, peaked under hood, nothing out of the norm. WIthout doing anyhthing it fired right back up and drove home. Parked in street by house, went to move an hour later, fired up but shut off when I shifted into drive. Fired back up and drove in garage. What could be going on? Also My battery is fresh as of a few months ago.

my cps was starting to go out and the jeep would stall out at random times. never did it when i was stopped, but it would cut out for a second or 2 on the highway, then cut back in (the trans was still in gear, so it fired right back up like a push start)

Thanks . "i'll try the tps. Did you clean it all or really just disconnect and reconnect?

I grabbed a CPS out of a junk yard and took apart, cleaned and rebuilt. Yet my engine light is still on forr 1899 (cps) Might have to check it, sucks b/c it is a PITA to remove.

A really easy check:
There is a gang of wires coming up the front of the engine that run up around the manifold heat shield to the injectors. (at least there is on my 90). The edge of that shield can cut into those wires, sometimes causing all sorts of problems. Mine blew the mouse nest in the air cleaner out through my front grille. Drove through the confetti! No sign of the mouse. Was a hassle for over a year. Then I moved the wires.
