I have only ever run a mud terrain, so i am biased to. Super Swampers are good tires, if you have a trail rig. The BFG KM2 has really really good on road wear, and its pretty good offroad. Im not a fan of at's but thats probably cause I have never run them.
I'm about to put some Kumho Road Venture MT's on my rig after I get it lifted. I'll let you know how they do.

My Firestone dealer told me that he will pro-rate new tires for me if they wear out faster than the warranty. I mean I love BFG AT's, but every rating that i'm reading, says that Destination AT is better than BFG AT. and they are quite a bit lighter than BFG's. I think I'm ready for some decent mpg.

I run the Kumho M/T's on mine, but my wife's waggy has the Firestone Destination AT's and they've proven to be a pretty capable tire on the road and in snow. Haven't had them in mud yet.

No experience with Firestone, and personally don't really care for them. I have run BFG AT's (loved 'em), BFG MT's, and Goodyear MTR's. You said you've ran AT's for the last 5-6 yrs so if you switch to MT's be prepared for a lot more road noise from the tires and a possible drop (very slight) in MPG.
If you don't do any aggressive wheeling I would stick with AT's as they're much quiter, provide better MPG's, and typically cost less. Have you looked at the Toyo Open Country AT? That would be another good choice, and my father-in-law runs Michelin LTX/MS on his Silverado 1500 and loves them.

Bit the bullet with our plow/tow truck(2001 F350 diesel) and went from 315/75-16s BFG ATs to 315/75-16s Firestone Destination ATs and absolutely love them. I have ran BFG ATs on our work trucks for years. To me they lack in comparison with the Firestone ATs. The Firestone ATs do better in soft sand, snow, and ice. I can say the BFGs had great wear. Put 80k on the last set.

I have Firestone Destination AT's on my daily driver. We've had quite a bit of snow lately and they rip thru it like it's not even there. I used to have BFG AT's on my DD and while they compare I think my Firestone's are better in all weather conditions.

Another note is I've noticed my BFG mt's on my trail truck does not do half as well in the snow when I drive it on the pavement as the Firestone AT's do. Wet roads are really no difference.
