I have a 98 xj I6. I just put my rc 3" lift and some 31x10.5 bfg all terrain ta kos and it has killed my mpg. I used to get 18 hwy and now get 13 hwy. Is this normal?

Unfortunately yes. The more you lift it and the bigger your tires, the bigger the drop in mpgs (that is assuming you keep the stock gears). If you want your mpg back (or close to it), you'll need to regear

Also, a new speedo gear may help you more acuratly track your mileage. Your odometer is off because of the larger tires. It may help to always drive in 3rd, not overdrive.

That seems like a pretty hefty drop in mpgs, sure you calculated it all right. I also have the 3" but with 30s and mine dropped very little if at all.

It's not 13 if you haven't changed your speed-o gear. It will make some difference.

I get how to read the tables to buy one. I just don't know my gearing. Where can I find what gearing I have in my jeep?
