motor problems

Default motor problems

ok so i just bought 2 xjs one is a stock 91 and the other is a 96 with a 6 inch lift with 32'' the problem i am haveing is the 96 needed a motor so i bought the 91 i got every thing switched over but the motor isnt running right it idles fine some times and crappy other time and ever time i hit the gas it bogs out and pops and will barly move. it did the same thing in the 91 and i can't figure it out i changed the pugs ,wires ,feul filter, cap and rotor , and check the timeing thats good i am out of opoions can any one help me out thx

maybe try cleaning the IAT sensor?

Intake Air temp sensor. Its on the intake manifold in line with all of the vacuum lines.

it sounds to me like maybe the sensor stated above. but is it throwing any codes?

idk if it is throwing any codes i cant drive it to auto zone

It also sounds to me like you need to index the dizzy. Read this and see if your rotor on the dizzy is off. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/dis...w-reset-25472/
