Well dumb me when looked at the jeep I have now and bought (my buddy went with me and talked me into which I cant stand now after thinking about it but anyway
89 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 I herd it and I believed it was a bad lifter but after driving it and hear it it sounds like a bad rod bearing. It sounds like it misfire while driving and oil pressure gauge falls then gains. Ill take a video tomorrow but Im 17 work 2 jobs (got money) but idk what to do.
1) Pass onto the next person
2) Rebuild ($600 bucks for parts)
3) Find a rinux motor for a swap
Let me here your opinions

Post a recording of the engine noise.
Oil pressure falls and gains- please explain....rising and falling with engine RPM is normal.
Provided it doesn't fall below 13 PSI at hot idle, probably nothing to worry about.
Misfire while driving- what do the ignition parts look like? Plugs, wires, cap, rotor? Bad wires are probably the #1 cause of misfiring under load.

What is wrong with rear wheel? Axle bent?
Value before repair + labor/parts is more or less than value after repair?
Usually older cars have so many big and small problems, it doesn't make sense to take them even for free.
Here is example of not old XJ, I didn't buy it:
99 XJ 230K miles, 4x4, $1300, needs:
rear main seal
rocker panel outer and inner
transfer case rebuilding
rear shock upper bracket welding
front bumper new, but crooked (frame?)
evaporator system code
AC and heat don't work.
If you cannot replace window yourself, it will cost you a lot to keep your Jeep in running condition.
