3 little wires into distributor.
The plugs on these little wires don't match up with what I have in the jeep. Can I splice in my plug with the wires from the new distributor.

That's what I'm hoping, 7/8 through an engine swap for a buddy and ran into this. He's out of money and I'm out of patience.
I just hope there isn't any variance between the two setups, they look identical otherwise. Only difference is the year, the replacement is a 92, the jeep is a 98.

I would recommend not splicing, here's why.
There is a 5 volt signal on one of those wires into the cam sensor (It's a hall Effect Sensor), the return signal (to the PCM) is on the second wire, and the 3rb is a ground. A poor connection on either of these will effect the return voltage to the PCM and create a nightmare to troubleshoot when your engine starts having issues related to cam position signal.
Do yourself a favor and use the correct cam sensor even if it means swapping the distributor.

Well, we couldn't use the old dist., so we spliced in the new one. Works great. He will be getting a new one when he can.
If it were mine I would have replaced it, but he is broke, so you do what you have to, I guess.
Thanks for the help.
