I have a 98 Cherokee nothing done to the motor except aftermarket header for the last few months I've been losing gas , I used to get 200 or so miles to a tank now im only getting around 135 to 145 to a tank I've recently put a new torque converter in after hearing it start to whine, tranny man said caught it early no problems to tranny, put new plugs , wires rotor an cap also a cat , cat smelled really bad for long time was told put a sensor in, so I did, the one after header not the one in cat . I have also had to weld my header back up after cracking issue not to long ago . it seems that I can drive it an the gas gauge is good it dosen't move down fast while running an going but when I start it the next time to drive the gauge is down a noticeable amount to where I can tell its gone . so I started looking for gas around injectors but nothing, look for signs on ground and any where else an nothing only after a few mins of turning off jeep can I get a slight smell of gas around rear of jeep but I look an I see nothing up there of any kind of wetness . I don't smell gas any other time either . any ideas of where its going if it is? I recently also started to hear what I think is my front locker clicking for a few seconds before I come to a stop . i recently put new 35s on but wouldn't think it would cause that much of a gas loss cause that's what i ran before this problem . i run front an rear lockers with 456 gears . plz help if possible thanks

Well, if your not finding any obvious leaks or fuel puddles or bad gas smells....and you trust your gauge being accurate .....there is not much else possible than that you're burning it. In that case, Start looking into causes of running 'pig-rich'..
And stop smelling the cat...

Maybe some one is stealing it? But if you say that you are smelling gas at times that means you do have a leak some where or you are running real rich.

Shouldn't you have an o2 sensor before AND after the cat for the ecu to dump the correct amount of fuel into the engine? I've read in numerous places if those detect exhaust gases ppm being off they will throw your fuel economy for a spin, mostly in a bad way. That might mean your check engine light should be on as well though.

When was your last oil change? Change your oil and see if it smells of gas, could be a leaky injector/s...or someone might be stealing your gas at night....

Won't necessarily point to a leaky injector, just saying it might be a cause. If an injector is stuck open, it can leak into the cylinder, past the rings and into the pan. Oil that smells like gas can be a bad thing....
