Default Misfiring

Okay, my jeep was beginning to start a little hard, so i ran to the parts store and picked up some NGK V power copper cores... put em in...

It now misfires at idle...but drives phenomenally... I took the coil rail off like 4 times thinking maybe it wasnt seated correctly with no change.

Anyone know why? could it be the connection? Im going to clean everything off with alcohol tomorrow.

i read on here that the stock champion plugs are the best. try cleaning the throttle body while its running with spray cleaner. put some seafoam in the fuel tank. take off the vacuum hose on the brake booster, insert it into the seafoam can and rev it up just a little to put the seafoam thru the system. wrap the fuel inlet tube next to the intake. the converters heat up the fuel too hot, and cause it to miss at idle. has air filter been changed?

air filter is brandy new...

I just dont understand why it would do this on the first startup after changing out the plugs... the ones that i took out were also the same plugs

so it did not miss until the change? i would put some dielectric grease in the boots to help them slide on better. theck all the connectors/pins to make sure one didnt push out, or become corroded. maybe one of the connections can loose inside the boot.is wrong spark plug gap possible? kinda sounds like one is loose or damaged and not making good or no contact.

I checked all the gaps, the NGK's came at .035 exact, right to spec..

Dielectric grease, is that the stuff that comes in a packet at the front counter at the parts store? haha

I usually run the autolite platinums, especially with anything coil-on-plug... You may be able to change the boots and springs in the coil pack as those function as the wires in your case. The only way I would imagine a bad coil is if it was, One or two cylinders would be a regular miss...

Let's not rule out a bad plug...even new, I've come across this before.
Did you maybe drop one by accident before installation? It just takes a little bit to do damage to the electrode internally where you can't see it.
Good luck with finding the problem.

Cool

I would try the plugs again, if all was good before the tune-up
