Edelbrock headers vs stock with flex pipes
My stock manifold is cracked. Need to buy a replacement this week. I have an intake as well as new exhaust from the headers down. I dont know much about the exhaust that is on there, as it was done before i bought the jeep, it looks like stock a stock size, just routed better. Also noticed for the first time it appears i do not have a muffler. I figured headers would be a logical next step, but now after talking to a few jeep guys at the local parts store, they are suggesting that i go with the stock relacesment that has flex pipes to accomidate some engine movment and prevent another crack. Have any of you guys heard of people stil getting cracks in their preformace headers? If its not likly to crack again i want to go with the Edelbrocks, but if its going to crack again in a few years, id go with the stock manifold with flex pipes.
Thanks for any info on the matter.

The stock manifolds on jeeps are known for cracking, the flex style is a much better exhaust manifold than the original. I have never had headers on my jeep, but headers crack just the same as manifolds from vibration on my truck, they also have a tendacy of warping and leaking at the manifold. If you are looking for a performance increase, the header is a good choice,if you just want a good exhaust system,I would go with the flex manifold.
