Smile Misfire?

I have a misfire in cylinders 1,2, and 6. Check spark plugs. They are good. Cap, rotor, and wires are good. Any suggestions on what I should check?

What kind of plugs do you have in there? Bosch sparkplugs can cause you problems.

I had same problem. Couldn't figure it out. Finally found out it was my exhaust manifold bolts loosened. Just enought for it to suck air and run rich. Tightened them up and it went away.

Any check engine light? If so, you must pull stored codes for clues/guidance.

And X2 on Bosch plugs. The 4.0 does NOT like these plugs!

I am running bosch plugs. I'll change them. Any suggestions on good plugs? An I do have a slight exhaust leak but it's in the gasket where the header meats the down pipe.

For a 1996, go with plain old champion copper plugs, properly gapped to .035.

I had the same when I cleaned the engine compartement. I would pull all the PCM plugs (clips on the bottom and top) and clean the plugs and PCM with electric contact cleaner and put it back. If you don't have firm contact with the PCM it will do a lot of funny stuff!...

Thanks guys. I'll try the new plugs and check my connections. I'll poste an update after.
