Bendix 9 System Removal
So when we got this 89 xj the PO said that the master was out, after driving the car (extremely careful i might ad) and parking the truck till the parts came in, we open the hood to swap it out to find one that doesn't match the part we got.
The master that is in the xj right now has no vac. booster, its got a plastic res bottle, and it is very long, id guess maybe 10in +. the brake lines are on the drivers side.
the master we got is definitley shorter, metal brake res, brake lines on the passenger side. from looking at a few different parts places on line it appears to be the correct one for an 89 xj..
NEED INFO ON MC SWAP, see post below

Ok so getting a hold of this stuff to replace the Bendix ABS...
Been reading through the various threads and such, but had a few questions.
What proportioning valve should we get? i found one write-up that says that you need to swap the pedal out to use 96 an up masters, and one that says if you use the 2000 xj one, that it bolts right up.
i found one on naxja for a 99, will that require the pedal to be swapped out? i looked up the parts new for an 00 cherokee and it says they are the same from 95-01...can anyone confirm this?

The main differences Ive noticed from 95-01 was that the 99-01 has the updated intake manifold along with more emissions. Not sure if that effected the placement or design of the MC?

i found a write up on specifically what i am doing...89 xj w/ bendix abs to the 99 xj master/booster setup. It says that the 89 abs pedal won't work, and the 99 pedal has a different mounting system. so i am going to get the parts in hand, and see if i can simply drill a new mounting hole for the abs pedal, or if i need to actually find a standard pedal from a early xj..

So i got everything to swap to a non ABS setup from a 91 cherokee. Does anyone know the fitting sizes on the 91's proportioning valve?
i snagged the boost/master/prop valve and the brake lines that go from the prop valve to the master. I just need to know what type of flair and what size the fittings are on the other side of the prop valve (the side that hooks to the lines in the car) so i can get a flair tool and get this stuff finished up
thanks!
