My father uses mystery oil....he got it from his father. I use it as well. Have for years now. I do understand where some of you are hesitant to use it in our oil I always put it in a week or two before an oil change. I don't add much...quart tops. Just depends. When I buy a used car or something I change the oil and filter. Put a quart of it in and fill it up with oil. Then run it for a few weeks then drain it and put new oil in and filter on. Works like a charm. Great in the gas tank too. I dont use it every fill up nor every oil change. Usually every other. And I buy it at Walmart. They have a big jug of it. It was like $12-$15. I think it was a gallon. Maybe more. Can't remember. Still have it. Lasts awhile. Good stuff though. Highly recommend it.

Yeah, I've run ten gallons of mmo treated gas in my keep and haven't had any problems yet. It's just tranny fluid, though. Really. Thin. Tranny fluid.
MME is a very light oil and solvent mixed together. I have always assumed that the light oil is so it can get into cracks and crevaces that the higher viscosity stuff just cant reach.
Back in the mid 90's I bought a 75 KZ400 out of a guys aircraft hanger. He got it in 75, put 800 miles on it, it scared the crap out of him, and then he parked it under a tarp. I got it for $100 because I knew his son and the engine wouldnt turn. Soaked the engine for a week in MME, cleaned the carb, and was able to start it with a few kicks. Tires, brakes, a few seals/gasket, cleaning and a tune up ran that bike almost hassel free for 20k miles when I sold it.
I got in the habit of runnning MME in the oil on that bike all the time. I noticed that every few months I would start to get a little oil leak from the engine covers. Not a lot, but enough that I would have a few drips under it in the garage. When it happened I would just change the gaskets the next time I did the oil. The gaskets were always falling apart.
With the suggestion of somone on a forum like this I stopped running MME in the oil all the time and the oil leaks stopped. What was happining was the MME was eating through my case gaskets and over time they would start to leak.
Now I will run MME in all of my vehicles about a week before an oil change. That way I still get the cleaning but it doesent have time to destroy anything
As far as fuel treatments go, seafoam is great

My Jeep has the 4.0 w/186,000 miles, and I've been adding MMO to my gas and oil since I have owned it. It seems to run like new although I can't say for sure if MMO was the reason for it's longevity. I have had good results in other applications. I had an old engine that I un seized with it.

It's a little more than $2.00 a quart through Jamestown Distributors.. more like $6-8 depending on if you get the 5 gallon pail shipped or not.
The cheapest I have found online is $5.00 per quart via the 4 gallon pack at "the dude" that price includes shipping. At around $1.50 per 8 ounce gas tank application.. that may be worth it. Just a few years ago Lucas fuel treatment used to be $1.00 per 5 ounce vial. Now it's like $4.

Walmart has the gallon for under $14 (under $3.50 a quart)!
