manual transmission issues
so this is going to be pretty tough to explain, its a ax-15 tranny all fluids are good, and i replaced the clutch about a year and half ago or so, but anyways its starting to shift really rough.shifting up into gears is okay but shifting down to a lower gear, it grinds and you can feel something in the tranny, grab or clunk lol sorry for the attempt to try and explain, but i really dont think its the clutch because its not even two years old and it doesnt slip or anything. the pedal has a different feel to it than before this problem not like a squishy feeling like the slave cylinder is going out but like more loose? any advice or previous experience on this will be apperciated thanks

By "something Grab" do you mean it won't go in? If so my AX-15's doing the same. Shifts up just fine, sometimes it's really hard to get in gear down shifting and occasionally grinds. And almost impossible to get in reverse sometimes do to it just not going in (solved by letting the jeep roll or lifting the clutch a little), or grinding (So i can only get it in if i slam it in)
I didn't notice any change in the clutch, although i did go from a heavy duty clutch to a light duty one last time it was changed.

Your synchronisers are going out. Mine's the same way lol. What fluid did you fill with last time?
Do you know how to double clutch? If not there are a lot of videos on YouTube that explain how... for the 'why' I recommend some of the big truck ones. I remember an Eaton Fuller Road Ranger video being pretty informative. It's that or time for a rebuild

My AX15's always been a lil rough, esp. going into 2nd or reverse. Downshifting, about 95% of the time I double clutch now. I've been meaning to put some decent Amsoil fluid in it for over 2 years. Never have gotten around to it, lol.

I guess i'll start double clutching too lol.
No clue what fluid i have in mine, i don't have the tools to change it myself yet (That's going to change soon) so i just have AAMCO do it.

3rd? Depends exactly how I parked. Sometimes I go through 4 gears to find one that mashes up properly with reverse lol.
I second the Redline MT-90. I've been trying to get my paws on it but haven't had any luck yet. Short of that stuff like Pennzoil Synchromesh will do. Don't use 10W30. ACDelcy Synchromesh is too thin and really smells like sulphur. I didn't realize it at the time but I think it's been eating away at me synchros even more. And give the Lucas Transmission Fix a pass... was alright for a week or two but now doesn't feel like there's anything special.

Thirdly on the Redline MT-90.
And yes it sounds like synchros.
Reg motor oil or gear oil is no beuno for brass.
(the "abridged" explanation)
