manual to auto
have a 1991 jeep cherokee xj when i bought it the previous owner swapped out the automatic tranny to a manual tranny..also added was aslip yolk eliminator and custom driveshaft (made longer) i want to swap back to automatic.. is the automatic tranny the same length as the manual? just wondering if im gonna have to get another drive shaft made. thanx

go to the junk yard, and get one out of an auto. or measure yours and measure the one at the jy. have to grab the harness of the jy one too.

wanna swap back to automatic cause the standard is horrible when rock climbin.. so obviously being an inch longer will put the transfer case back an inch too.. i got custom drive shaft hopefully theres enuf room for it to compress an inch

Torque converter will out last a clutch any day and feather itself perfectly instead of needing to feather a clutch. Its like adding another gear reduction. I really dont see any benefit to a manual. There's a reason that almost all rock bouncers and KOH rigs runs autos....
