Maintenance for roadtrip
i got a 95 cherokee and im gettin ready to go on a 900 mile trip
i did an oil cahnge about 1000 miles ago wit spark plugs and wires and air filter at about the same time and i replaced the radiator like 3 weeks ago wat maintenance should i do to my jeep to make sure this trip goes smooth without a hitch

Did you do the cap and rotor? When was the last time you did your transfer case,front and rear diffs? I would also do a fuel filter.. and also check all of your lights, Brake lights including plate light this way you do not give a reason for a cop to pull you over

I'm with the rooster. Fresh fluids are the lifeblood of your vehicle!
Coolant, transmission fluid, transfer case fluid, both differentials, thermostat, serpentine belt, fuel filter.
And that cap and rotor for sure. They are inexpensive.

yea i did do the cap and rotor when i did the spark plugs and stuff and i just put new lights in to
i figured i would have to change all the fluids just wanted to see if they really needed it

3k would be the minimum oil change interval, and many go longer than that, especially for road miles.
As you are only taking a 900 mile road trip, you will still be good when you get back.

nah no need to change your oil for the trip... might want to change it when you get home tho... sounds like you are ready to go...

900 miles is nothing. I wouldn't worry about too much. I'll drive 900 miles in a weekend. Just make sure the oil is changed. I use Mobil 1 synthetic oil in my engine. Royal Purple in the diff's.
