i'm a Mopar guy, but you can't go wrong with LS1. it all depends on if you're willing to do tons of fab work and have a vehicle that will be rather experimental. but experimental opens the endless door to more mods, so for the rest of us, that means knowing someone who can help us if we wanna do the same mods. just my two cents.
I'd stick with a carb since that would be easier and even the propane carb if you wanted. Just use an electric fuel pump and if everything is set up correctly you will be doing just as good with a carb as FI. Heck just today I started my Barracuda with a high performance engine and carb'ed for the first time since last fall. It is no where close to dialed in and it started easier than my daily driver renix jeep.

Ls1 is going to cost a lot and require a lot of time and custom fab. If money and time is not an issue LS1 all the way. Personally if I was going to swap in anything but a 4.0 it would be Diesel. 4bt or OM 617 maybe an Isuzu. x1235 on build thread

I never thought of that.. I actually have a holley baseplate 4 barrel style propane setup off of an old propane powered Schwans truck.. That would be absolutely sick.. That may be the way to go..
On the oposite end of all of this i am having issues.. I keep reading about how the Lsx engines have .400 difference in the depth of the flywheel-trans mounting surface.. Meaning that i would have to run a spacer to make the clutch pilot on the AX15 line up with the pilot bushing.. Or you can run the extremely hard to find 6.0 truck flywheel that is already thicker and that would fix all of my issues.. OR i could make my own adapter and make it .400 thinner and out of steel to allow me to not have to run anything special.. Either way it is going to be a pain.. but if i can pull it all off then it will be absolutely unstoppable drivetrain wise..

Anyone have one of the Novak adapters??
