does anybody know anything about the Dana Super 35 kit? thinking of getting one, and yes, I have considered a used Chrysler 8.25 or Dana 44. just don't know if I wanna buy somebody else's headache with used internals and no locker, or upgrade my own axle to new internals and a 31 spline shafts that are the same size as Dana 44 or 60. and super 35 comes with OX cable locker.

A used C8.25 axle that you rebuild and add a locker to, would cost about the same as a Super 35 kit and be stronger.

really? cause JP magazine gave the Super 35 a good review. and I thought it could be a good alternative. I don't dog my XJ any, might hit a trail or two very lightly. do u think it would be ridiculous to spend money on Super 35 instead of rebuilding a c8.25? because jp said it will have a strength of a 44, I think.

For the price of a Super 35 kit you can add a locker to and buy a 8.25..

absolutely not honestly. i just wanna know a real alternative. my buddy bought a great c8.25 setup that would even save him money because they already had a 4.10, but the housing cracked not 2 months later, right at the axle tube. somebody had done twisted the everlivings out of that axle. you just don't know what you're getting with used parts. as i said, at least i already know that my turdy fives are in great shape.

ya true that. just sounds like your only other choice is an axle swap, which you dont sound to keen on, unless you get the axle from under a jeep you know. and JP has the time to tinker with **** like this, so if they say the Super 35 kit is stronger or as strong as the D44, it probably is... id almost just say save yourself the headache and get the Super Turdy Five kit...

dana 44 for 75 bones SOLD! this is probably from a full size axle? I too am considering a 35 upgrade. dersert rat offroad has a kit for 899 with axles bearings and diff. locker Detroit. I dont think its to bad of price. I am more looking into the Aussie locker and the alloy axles myself just waiting on money!
