Default Loud poping sound while bleeding slave cylinder? HELP NEEDED

Hi, I installed a new slave cylinder and while bleeding, a loud pop sound occurred. After the pop, the clutch pedal went rock hard. I removed the slave cylinder and re-installed evervything. Again while bleeding it a loud pop occured, but this time the pedal was a little softer than normal. After the second pop occured it allowed me to put it in all of the gears which it would not previously let me do. I have never heard this pop before nor had this problem Anybody with an idea is great help now.

I installed a new slave because the pedal was going straight to the floor and the tranny wouldn't go into any gears. I had to pump the clutch and fill the master cylinder to get into any gear. On a 5 mile drive home, I had to pull off 3 times to pump the clutch and fill the master cylinder. I determined it was a broken slave cylinder cuasing the problem. I am not 100% convienced now, What else can it be? What was the pop? Thanks.
