Default Loud Noises!

When i try to run my A/C or if i just gun the gas too hard my belt is making a really loud screaching noise. I originally thought it was the clutch to the water pump but i've since replaced the pump and have a newer belt on there. Anyone know a solution?

Water pumps don't have clutches. Are you talking about the fan clutch or the A/C clutch?

A/C clutch is what i meant...i guess. I'm not exactly sure how far i've tightened it down but when i first put the belt on the noise was gone and i had no problems for about 2 weeks then the sound came back so i tightened it further....i was good for another few days but now i dont really feel i should tighten it further..

not to make you feel silly or anything, but check the tension now, and see if the idler pulley screw has loosened up at all.

if that isnt down tight the adjusting mechanism could eventually loosen up a bit.

lets say if i loosened it to the point where i could slip the belt off...how much do you think i should have to tighten it to be adequate?

Need to see if the belt has glazed from the slippage and if t has then replace it and use a belt tension gauge to check the tension.

probobly just need a new belt. i had mine squeel like that like 4-5k miles ago, eventually it wasnt gripping enough and hte alternator wasnt getting power. so i replaced it with the cheapest one htey had, they told me id need to replace them often if i bought the crappy kind... and now its starting to squeel again!
