Default Loud Click ???

I went and drove thru a couple of mud puddles and now when I turn to the right I hear a loud click noise on the drives side. Any idea what this is and how can I fix it... I looked under the front end and I dont see anything that looks broken or hanging down.... I lost!!!!

Did it do it only once or does it keep doing it?
Many times a u-joint will make noise after a trip through standing water. It doesn't always mean that a U-joint is bad. Do you have greasable joints?

Climb underneath the Jeep. Grab the axle shaft where it comes out of the tube heading into the yoke(the part that is enlarged and the u-joint is in the middle). Try wiggling it both directions. Slop in there will let you know the joint is really toasted and needs replaced now.

If they are greasable try to grease them you will most likley need a needle adapter for your grease gun.

Another thing to check is the wheel stops. Where steel meets steel when you turn the wheel all the way to one side. If it got wet and muddy, then dry, it may pop loudly. Rub a lil heavy grease on the contact surface and it may help. Of course check what the other guy's posted first!
