Losing oil somewhere
I have a 95 XJ Sport, and I'm losing a good bit of oil somewhere. My valve cover gasket has been seeping oil for a while, but I also noticed that the "Fresh Air Inlet" on top of the valve cover has a lot of oil around it all the time now. Will replacing this inlet stop the leak? Also I wouldn't be surprised if I'm burning a bit of oil, I have 215k on the engine, but I'm not seeing any white smoke from the tailpipe. The only smoke I ever see is a bit when I open the oil fill cap after its been running.
I tried to show some pictures of the fresh air inlet and the valve cover, but they aren't great

I'm not sure that it will stop the valve cover leak but I would replace that elbow yes. You can try and very carefully tighten the valve cover bolts a bit and see if that helps but once it starts it's pretty much time to redo it. I always wipe out (carefully) whatever sludge is up there when I do it too.
