I've had a bit of play in my steering wheel ever since I lifted my xj and now I think I found the problem but not sure. I looked at the steering shaft itself while turning the wheel and noticed it slipping on the upper end of the lower shaft before the u-joint going into the fire wall. It makes a grinding noise as well. Is this somewhat normal or a need to replace NOW sort of thing?
