dude, junkyards around me literally have a TON of pre-97 XJs with HO engines. Have you tried calling/visiting the ones nearby to you?

Really the engine (part of it) that you have will work fine. You just need to find the HO head, intake, TB, and exhaust. With those and an HO computer you'll have an HO motor, they're the only things that changed (the longblock is identical). If you still have the engine you first took out pull whatever parts are still good on that and swap them to the engine you have now. The biggest thing to find is the head, which can come off any 91-98 XJ.

Yeah that an idea but my original motor on that came with the jeep was a HO but i messed up with out thinking and put in this renix Non HO so the only the difference in these two motor is the heads

no, way more differences. What did you swap when you did the engine? If you swapped all the sensors and computer from your old engine to the "new" one, that explains why it won't run. (crank indexing is different among other things)

The sensors, head, intake and exhaust, and throttle body are all different on the HO engines (basically everything above the head gasket). The lower long block essentially is the same though.

yes i did change out all the sensor and troutle body from my old motor to the donor motor.

The intake and exhuast are the ones that came with the donor motor i did not change them out they look the same.

Now here's my question if i got a non HO computer and put it in to the replace the HO that came with the jeep would that work since the motor that in it is no longer a HO?

you're trying to mix too many components. You need to get it back to HO operation, you do not want to go the other way, it will never operate correctly.

The intake and exhaust are not the same, and need to be matched to the head. Really you need to just find a HO head, intake manifold, and exhaust. Then reswap the sensors and Trottle Body from the original HO engine to the new head, and use the HO computer.
