Question long arm kit question for cherokee

if you bought a long arm suspension kit for an xj would you need a SYE and a CV driveshaft or are those mainly needed for short arm kits to eliminated drive vibration.... basically im asking will you get drive vibration if you install a long arm kit... thanks

long arm kits are for the front an sye is for the rear of the transfer case but how much lift in the rear are you going because after 4.5inches of lift you need an sye

I went 6.5 long arm and I get driveshaft vibes in between 25 and 35 mph. Everyone tells me a syi might help but I thought it was so my rear shaft won't plop out on full flex (subscribed to this thread for answers )

after 4 inches of lift if you don't run an sye kit you will get vibes at speed and sye kit make the transfer case smaller and the driveshaft longer this reduces the angle of the driveshaft i would also use a transfercase drop if you lift over 5 inches

thats so you can get rid of the slip yoke drive shaft but that is not going to help the drive shaft angles or vibration

Thats some crazy flex! is that because grand cherokees have coils in the rear? Also thanks for the info.

At 8" of lift you're going to have front axle issues. The caster will be non-existant if you rotate the pinon up for proper driveshaft angle. If you try to maintain the proper amount ofcaster your driveshaft u-joints will not last very long.

Anything above 6.5" gets expensive real fast if you want a vehicle thats safe to drive to and from the trail.
