Default Lines to Evaporator loose?

I am in the middle of R/R of the heater core and evaporator. After replacing the O-rings on the lines from the A/C compressor and accumulator through the firewall the lines seem loose, not tight like they were when I was breaking everything down. I used the O-rings that came with the evap. Is this as simple as getting larger O-rings? I am pretty sure that when I re-pressurize the system the pressure will blow the lines right off. I can pull them apart without the tool.

Any ideas? I have never really messed with an A/C system before.

Did you hear a click when you reconnected them?

I could feel it when it went over the O-rings, but they pull back out very easily. Not snug enough for me to think they were on good. I know I have heard the a parts store has O-rings but I don't know what size to look for other than just a visual comparison with the ones I have. I guess I will start with the generic kit that replaces all of the O-rings, unless someone else has a better suggestion. I don't know much about A/C systems so I was surprised when it didn't seem to fit right.

Buy the kit or match up the original O rings, lube them with PAG before sliding the lines back together.

Bought the O-ring pack and a replacement fluid line. I don't think I needed a new line but wanted to make sure. Once I used the PAG oil to lube everything up, everything went on pretty smoothly. I haven't run a vacuum on it yet, but hopefully it will hold it and the refrigerant.
