You really don't need a transfer case drop kit if you're only lifting to 3 iches. If you buy a Rough Country kit, it will come with everything you need. My son just bought a Rough Country 6.5 inch lift kit and it was waaaaaaaay more complete than the 4.5 inch lift I bought from Rusty's.

with an older jeep you might not get vibes. a tcase drop is just a band aid, i would personally never run one. if you do get vibes from the lift, you can get an SYE or use degree shims in the rear. with a 3" lift you may want to get a new adj. tracbar.

Shouldn't have any vibes with a 3" lift on a 92. I would recommend installing a SYE over a t-case drop any day, no sense in lowering the t case when you are trying to gain ground clearance especially in the middle where most thing hang up.

i wouldnt say he "needs" one, he could always re-locate if he doesnt plan on going any bigger... but i didnt even have to re-locate with m 3inch RC. so i'd say its a hit or miss situation... i think he should wait till after the lift to decide if he needs one or not.

Don't forget to get either a LONGER rear brake line or one of howler's extenders. You will need brakes and stock won't cut it.

x2

i use howlers extender and couldnt be happier... with it, you wont need to bleed or anything.... just unbolt it off ur axle, bolt the extender on and then bolt ur lines back to the top of the extender.. and it makes it so much easier and less time consuming. only like 5mins i'd say!
