Hey everyone,
I am fairly certain that I am going to put in a 3 inch rough country lift kit in my '91 Laredo. I am curios about what wheels and or tires i will need so that it doesn't look silly. I would love some before and after pictures of 1.5 inch and 3 inch lift kits that have been put in your Jeeps, just so i can really decide what i want. I am on a farm in Wisconsin so with the terrain etc it'd be nice to be able to get around my property in any weather without worrying but that wont be all too difficult. I know that 3 inch is pretty popular and i figured if i were going to do a 1.5 inch lift i might end up thinking i should have gone big or gone home. Im looking for input, opinions and pictures.
Thanks everyone.

make sure you know exactly what you want out of your lift. it sounds like you do. so next id ask what your budget is, cause thats crucial. also, the smallest true lift ive seen is the 2" by old man emu. but, its pricey and only a 2 inch. other things to think about: tires. the right tread is where its at. lockers. the open diffs in our jeeps suck. so the best way to make sure all that money you just spent on tires is actually working by fully utilizing both tires. if you lock the rear, then you have essentially got true 3wd cause the back 2 will spin and only 1 front will. so locking both axles (also not cheap, like at least 600 for just the lockers, and thats the cheapest youd wanna go) will give you the most traction possible. BUT without suspension the tires might not make the best contact with the ground when at a lot of flex. an easy way to help keep the tires in good contact is to change the sway bar set up by getting some disconnectable ones for the front and just scrap the rear. this allows axles to move more independently from body. BUT! be aware that driving on the street w/o front sway bar links is potentially dangerous. and if you crash and dont have the proper suspension equiptment, your in trouble. juts fyi... so clearly there is a lot to think about and like i said, be mindful of what you want your jeep to be in the end. it will save time and cash.. and headache.

My Jeep is a daily driver and I want it to be just that, but if I need to take something out to the other side of my property I dont want to need to think about getting stuck. I figured that the 3 Inch lift will be a good option because it gives me the advantage of more clearance without messing with my center of gravity to where its going to affect my driving much. Does that sound solid or am I missing something? I just want to double check all of this before I do it.
Wheels will be fine, may want to step up to a maybe a 30" tire. what type of terrain is on your property? this (to me) will ultimately detemine what tire to run. if its moderately muddy, lift isnt gonna help at all his were a decent A/T will help while still be able to have good street manners. VTJeep makes a good point about lockers, even a lunchbox style locker such as Powertrax ,or Aussi would be a great upgrade and still be streetable.

I use my jeep on my farm and its got a 3" RC with 31x10.5 hankook ATM... something along those lines...still has good street manners and goes through just about everything...lockers will be overkill for what you will most likely using it for on a farm, but I have friends in Wis. and with the snow they run 30x9.5 with chains

Exceelent, on the farm its just a small farm with some hills and muddy spots but snow makes things worse in the winter. If i have the 3" lift with 30s are my tires going to polish my wheel wells?
