Default Lift Kit Question

I have a 1 3/4 Old Man Emu lift on my 01 Cherokee Sport. Not what I would have chosen but it was on it when I bought it. I am trying to stretch it to around 3 inches using the same shocks. What could I buy to achieve the 3 inches so I can fit some 31's on it? Would the RR Outfitters 1.5" budget lift do the trick? Any help would be Great!!!

What's the OME setup? new front coils and rear leafs or AAL? If so then a new 1.5" front coil spacer and rear 1.5" shackles would do the trick although you will likely need something to extend you shocks since they will likely be to short.

Save and get a 3" lift instead of shackles and spacers. I bet you will be happy in the long run.

If you arent running an AAL in the rear you will be fine with some spacers and the shackles in the rear will actually provide you with a better ride. You should also be fine with the shock lengths.

I agree, but if you want to lift it more without spending a whole lot more go with the spacers and shackles.

IMO why waste the money on a 3" kit when in 6 months hes gona want a 4.5" kit Save your money for the long run and buy a better 4.5" kit then having two mediocre kits.

On my Cherokee i have the same lift grom OLD MAN EMU and i have put spacers in front coils 40mm and spacers at the shocks about 25mm. Rear i have pres the leafs 55mm. The front of the car behave very good but the rear is to ''strong'' I will put a kind of spacers at the rear shocks and i belive that the car will be better.
To fit the 31" tires on the original rims you need wheel spacers more than 1" and you don't have to lift the car. With the 1 3/4 " lift kit i had 31x10.5x15 and now I have 235/85/16 (almost 32").
Also If you have vibre at the steering wheel you have to put spacers at the transfer case about 1". I have25mm.
I'll upload 2 or 3 fotos to see the details.

I went through the same setup. Started with old man emu 2" kit (full spring packs) and went a little higher with 2" coil spacers and OME AAL. I kept the same shocks that came with the kit and used Full Traction Bar Pin Eliminators. They raise, or lower, the shock mount 2" to lengthen the range of your shocks. I got roughly 3-3.5" lift out of this setup and the tires still rub a little. I would recommend 4" backspaced wheels with this setup. I had 4" wheels and it did not rub. I would suggest going with a shackle instead of the OME AAL or any AAL for that matter. They stiffin up the rear a little. I am going to swap the AAL out for a shackle soon.

bar pin eliminators from full traction ($26 shipped from www.4wd.com)

31" tires with black steel wheels (2" kit)

31" tires with 2" kit + 2" spacers/OME AAL (3-3.5")

Coil spacers are similar to installing a coil. The shackles would need to be broken loose and the OEM shackle bolts are a real bear if you don't give them several days of PB Blaster soaking. Otherwise just like replacing stock with another stock shackle.

do you mea rocky road? If so if you can wait a few weeks I will have a set of spacers, shackles and shocks that will cost not much more then the lift itself new with around 2000 miles on em up for sale...I thnk their 2" budget boost kit is around $110 plus shipping...but I wouldn't use the stinking block they give ya since ya don't need it unless you want the rear to sit higher then the front..The only diff between their 1.5" and 2" BB is the 2" comes with a .5" rear block and then the front sits lower which is stupid...

What I will be selling is the 1.5 shackles, front poly spacers and 3 rancho RS5000 shocks..I am installing a complete RE 3.5 kit with RE shocks so no need for these parts..haven't set a price just gotta get the new lift in and then I can sell this budget lift of mine..
