I run an apline CDA-9886 head unit (ipod, usb, mp3, cd, etc.), two pioneer 6.5's in the front doors, two sony xplod 6X9's in individual boxes in the trunk, and two 12" JBL GT0 series subs pushed by a bridged kenwood 1200W mono block amp. had a kenwood 12" but i blew it up so i bought the JBL's and it is a night and day difference. the JBL's give incredible sound and a much cleaner hit. my xj outpounds all of my buddies trucks, even trucks with multiple 15's in em.

I just picked up a XJ 95 country edition with a relatively entact nice soundsystem stock in it. i dont know what brand, jensen? maybe not sure, but the only thing it lacks is some decent bass. i dont need a big amp and sub and stuff, i just want so simple bass to it. my honda accord had some nice xplodes in it and nothing much more but still delivered some decent bass, would a couple sony speakers be easy to install in an xj?

I have a pioneer p8500 awesome deck but kind of expensive it makes the stock speakers sound great at least until I get some new ones. What really makes the system though is my 12" JL audio W6 I definately recommend JL if you have some extra money or keep an eye out at the pawn shops. I found mine as a pair in a box for $300 but new there about 500 a piece. I built my own sealed box using the dimensions from JL's website and have it bridged to my 760 watt peak (around 350W RMS) Pioneer amp. It definately bumps but it sounds great with any type of music. I would definately recommend a sealed box over vented to anyone.

yes well turbo sony xplod subs are pretty much junk they do distort prolly even more so with a crappy amp if you hooked up a ppi or a kicker something decent it would sound alot better. I will post a pic of my setup today. Also ive noticed alot of ppl talking about usb ports flash drives ipod ports ??? why would i need a flash drive and an mp3 port isnt one source of audio good enough how much storage does one need. Also mopar why would u would u go with 10 inch speakers ??? 2 save space. You could just buy one 12 inch and use that it would take up less space and pound. A 10inch mine u an 8 inch no 8inch is gonna hit as hard or pound as hard as a 15 or even a 12 ive never ever seen a 10 inch in my life that hit as hard as a 12 inch size also why bother using smaller speakers mismatching your whole system when 6.25 i belive i have installed sorry not 6-1/2's 6.25 will fit in the cherokee no problem why have a bigger speaker in one door and not the other meaning the back hatch door do you not want to hear sound in front of you if you do why not keep all door speakers the same size from the same company instead of mixing two-way speakers with 3-way etc. while i will admit my speakers dont all match 2 are kappas and 2 are i belive clarions but there all 2 way and 6.25 inch. They used 2 show the bigger size xj would take on crutchfeild.com but now they just show 5-1/4 only but as we all know xj will take bigger. I used have a kenwood 10 in sub a sealed qlogic box with a alpine 2 channel amp i belive a t407 which put out about 150-200 watts 2 the sub. Now ive got a 12 ran at 200w and a fosgate amp and it pounds 10x what a 10 inch in a sealed box ever did for me. besides 2 sub 10 inch boxes can be gody like 12inch ones you dont save much room if any at all. I have no space complains thats what my roof racks are for outdoor gear. Btw the momo polk audio stuff is fairly decent i knew a kid who had a 2000w 15 sub hooked up 2 a 1700w monoblock amp and it was loud rattled the hell out of the mercury contour blew the alternator first week. Seems like alot of you dont run 2 amps just one big subwoofer amp. i personally wouldent go over 800 watts on stock alt. i would like 2 know whats the most watts anyone has gotten to run safely on stock cherokee alt

Mine is super easy. I just got to un-plug 3 wires and take the sub out. And it is cheap and doesnt take up much room and it still hits hard!

This is really easy to do!

most sub box's come with quick disconnects on the back(post terminals) and then all you have to do is disconnect then and then on your deck turn off your amp (or if that is not possible for some reason, pull the fuse which should be no more than 18"s from your main power from the battery.

Here's mine:

I built the box from 3/4" Micro Density Fiber Board (MDF) and sealed the whole thing from the inside and outside. It houses three 10" Dual Audio Subs and has two amps. The blue one is 300 watts and the red is 600 watts. The MDF cost $22 for a 6'x8' sheet at Home Depot. The carpet was $8 for a role at Auto Zone.

This thing rattles my mirrors and windows like crazy.

Dude please. If you blow an alternator that just means it's old or you hooked something up wrong. I rock my 1500w Rockford P5002 amp equipped with 4awg wire on stock alternator with NO problems. Currently it's wired in 4 ohms but even when I wire down to 2 ohms I still don't have problems. Buying a second alternator doesn't really solve your problem it just slows down how long it takes to wear out 2 instead of 1. Just buy a mean green alternator and your set!

Here's my list of cars that I have rocked the 1500w Rockford in with ORIGINAL alternators:

91 Dodge Shadow Convertible 140,000 miles
87 Dodge Shadow CSX 190,000 miles
88 Jeep XJ 200,000 miles
92 Jeep XJ 225,000 miles
91 Jeep XJ 295,000 miles

But I can't wait to get the mean green alternator so I can run ALL my accessories at full blast without a problem. Here's the list:
2 Hella 700ff's
2 Hella 500's
2 Piaa 520's(6" fogs)
2 Piaa 510's(4" fogs)
2 Chinese Hella 500 knockoff's
Heater on full blast(it gets cold in the rocky mountains at night)
Sound system full blast

And as soon as my current battery craps out I'm buying an Optima yellowtop.
