How many miles are on your jeep? Any reason why you would think that your motor is on its way out?

Well that's always a smart thing to have some insurance i currently have 233k on my 89 and it runs awesome. As for the motor swap i would have to say should be fairly easy but i cant be certain as i haven't had to do it yet myself. You could always build a stroker out of the other motor while your waiting, Just an idea.
