leaking axle seal
I have a 1991 cherokee with a D30 in the front and i recently replaced the ujoint on the passenger side and now the seal seems to be leaking. I have never replaced that and was wondering if someone could help me out with some instructions?

The axle seal is just outside of your diff housing. The inner portion of the 2 piece axle is what actually goes through the seal. Just removing your outer axle to replace the U-joint shouldn't have caused your axle tube to leak fluid. I'm guessing your seal must have already been leaking. The grind is that you have to pull the diff ring gear and carrier out because you have to pull the seals from the inside to replace them. http://www.alloyusa.com/accessories.html
you can also get these axle seals from Alloy USA. They work really well and you wouldn't have to pull your diff apart to change your OEM axle seals. You just pull the axles out. stick these seals in the ends of your axle tube and then reinstall the axles and done.

On a disco axle the seal is after the disco since there is a bearing in the housing right before the disco. I just did mine yesterday. It sucked! Lol

Oh, I wasn't sure if that one was a seal or bushing. I popped those, on the inner and outer sides of the vacuum actuator, out when I put my solid axle in. They were a be-otch to get out of there.
