That thing was driven an average of 27,500 miles a year, isn't that like twice what a normal person drives?

 

yup- I drive about 10k miles a year. I dont get out much.

 

the average person drives 12500 per year, and truck drivers average 50000 to 100000 miles per year. so my question would be this, whats that matter?
now before i get hate mail on this my point for asking is purely educational.

 

Well, it doesn't look like a semi to me. That's one hell of a commute this guy has. 75 miles a day if they work 7 days a week, and 105 miles if they work 5 days a week.

 

i run 80 round trip at least 5 days a week imho its as important how they were driven as how far

 

2x if the jeep was maintained good it will last even with 200+ miles, but if it was beat the **** out of you might run in to issues.

best thing to do is just go look at the jeep and see how she is running

 

Before you buy it do a compression test and a pressure test on the cooling system. I'm willing to bet the 0331 head is cracked right between the #3 and #4 cylinders. Good luck P.S. I see XJ's of that year and close mileage for about that price. I'd plan on at least doing the top end of the motor. I would find one for cheaper after all repairs are needed especially if you plan on using it for a DD.
