My 88 XJ is running like the Cat is clogged but it is not. (I just changed it). I have also changed the spark plugs and wires. It is not popping or missing but just runs like an air restriction and you can really hear the "puttering" sound when it downshifts. I guess my next move will be to change the feul filter and remove/check each injector?
Any suggestions anyone?

lol. My 4.0 has been very reliable...307k miles
I put the wires on in the correct order. The vehicle starts and idles great, it's just when you start to give it gas that the enginge lacks power and you can hear it through the exaust.

sounds like she's given all she can.....thats alot of miles dude....but then again, change the fuel filter, and take each injector out and clean them ( I would with that many miles ). Or upgrade to some neon injectors...thats what im running (their great)! sounds like its not getting sufficient gas
