knocking from oil pan

knocking from oil pan
I have a 98 cherokee classic. Lately there has been a loud rattling knocking sound whenever i start it and then it goes away when i drive it and when i shut it off its back but even louder. it sounds like its coming from the oil pan area, but I'm not to sure. Any help?
