Default Knocking noise under drivers seat?

I've been having a strange knocking under my general drivers side in the front of the Cherokee that I cant seem to figure out. I can feel it in my feet, as if something were actually shuddering against the floorboards, but i left it idle and crawled underneath, but there was nothing there. Its really bad when I slow down to a crawl or stop for a light, and lessens/disappears when I accelerate to the speed limit, and this happens in both 4WD and 2WD. I thought it might be my transmission or TC low on ATF, but i checked the levels on both and even added a little more just in case, but it still happens like before. The jeeps pretty rusty, it had been sitting for almost two years before i bought it and replaced the transfer case, and it defiantly seems like the previous owner didn't take good care of it. If anyone has any clue what might be up, I would really appreciate it, I'm new too all this and bought the jeep specifically so I could learn more. Its an automatic AW4 transmission and selecTrac 242 TC if that helps.

Very common to have the exhaust hit the trans crossmember on acceleration. Usually due to bad trans and/or engine mounts.

Thanks for the replies, Ill check this all out in a few days. We just got hit by some bad snow and I don't have a garage. Not exactally ideal troubleshooting conditions. While installing the replacment transfer case, we didn't add the exhaust mount that gets pancaked between the transmission and crossmember. That could probably cause some rattling.

I had a knocking from my exhaust where it's held up by the crossmember. It cracked all around the welded portion of the hanger and was sitting on the member and would knock on accel and over bumps.

You could be on to something there.
