Knocking noise on startup.

Just recently I've noticed a loud knocking noise on initial start up. After allowing it to run a while, and restarting it, the noise is all but gone. But, once started, it runs/idles fine, with no noticeable difference from before I noticed the noise. Really kinda pissing me off, because I just did an oil change on Friday. Gonna get underneath the ole girl and see if I notice anything out of the ordinary, but thought I'd come here for some suggestions on what to look for.

Could too much oil cause that?

Shouldn't. How much oil did you put in it?

What's the oil pressure at start up?

Is there oil still in it?

Is the exhaust banging on the cross member?

Holy crap.......
I did overfill it.....

I've taken some out and the noise is still there, but quieter.....

Oil pressure on start up is about 37-38

And yes, there's still oil in it lol

And I didn't happen to notice the exhaust while I was down there, but it doesn't seem like that would be it. The noise is definitely coming form the front.

Does it go away when you rev it a little, or does it get louder?

I'm thinking it might be your timing chain. How many miles?

Your timing chain probably has some slack in it. Mine makes a sound kinda like a knock from the front. It's been like that for the better part of a year.

Oil preasure doesn't mean every part has oil. It just means the sensor has oil. I'm not saying it is, but if it's some parts banging because of lack of oil I would definitely recommend not revving your engine when first starting.

If it were mine, and knowing what I know, the very first thing Iwould do is replace the oil filter with a Wix or Napa Gold.
