Default Keep snapping Track Bar any solutions

i have a 97xj with a 6" kit

tha adjustable track bar that is on it has a tierod that threads into the end(same part number as a stock XJ end for the tie rod)

i just snapped it for the third time

the previous two were wheeling, this one was just turning the wheels while stopped

it was bent first, and i think this may be an adjustable for up to a 4" kit?

any ideas how to fix this cheap, maybe a drop bracket?

Buy another track bar and bracket, please.

Next time it happens might not be in a good spot( running down the highway).

I snapped my Rustys at 6.5" lift and I left it sit for 4 days and rode to work so that I could upgrade and not just badage it up and wait for it to happen again.

Look at IRO's double shear and bracket. Pure BEEF!!!

You can't beat a Claytons, for being bulletproof and rebuildable too.

That looks like it should be mounted in a heavy duty double shear bracket.

I use Tera-Flex Track-Bar ends on the systems I put together anlong with a frameside mount that moves the trackbar far enough forward to clear the diff. and an over the axle trackbar mount. pricey, but damn near bullet-proof.

Ya the clayton bar can be used either way. That's how my boy run it an has no problems with it. But they do have the double shear box. Hell you can find a used super flex re traf bar an just make a drop bracket an box for it that what I did.

Just curious, is that homade bracket welded to the original bracket. can I make my own that easily or is there more to it than what I see?

That sure is. no hidden tricks I was sick of breaking tracbars an have plenty of material around since my father is a welder an all so I grabbed some 1/4"x3" plate mesaured the end on TB an started grinding down sections on my stock mount. So the plate sits flush and the welds can penetrate more. Only took me about an hour to get it all done. Now I just have to do some minor adjustments an it will be mint. I'm surprised at hw well the welds came out since I used the mig. But I parked my f350 on the box an its still in 1 piece so ya. I should have post pics when I did it but didn't think anyone would see it as a good idea ha. But I am goin to be making one for my boys xj with the Clayton end so I will post pics of process.

Not from Clayton that end is huge. Closet thing would be that teraflex end or do like I did an find a tracbar like mine an make the bracket for it. I posted more pics in the fab section. Finished it today an painted it.

That home made track bar is not a good design or idea.

Buy something pre-made or spend more time "engineering" it

It would be better if the back towards the spring were boxed in also...
